Le Poids des Choses + Pierre et le Loup
- at the Théâtre Louis Aragon in Tremblay-en-France
OFF SITE as part of the Séquence Danse Paris festival
“Each of the characters from this tale is represented by an orchestra instrument”: this is the genius idea of composer Sergueï Prokofiev who made Peter and the Wolf into an unmissable musical fable! Just as mischievous, the choreographer Dominique Brun took this principle literally and applied it to dance: what if the cat, the duck, the wolf, the bird, Peter and his grandfather all had different qualities of movement?
This is what is explained in Le Poids des Choses [The Weight of Things] as an introduction to the show, in the shape of a truly lively “lessons of things”. What a pleasure to rediscover Peter and the Wolf, their field and their pretty forest, and the entire menagerie! They unfold their audio and visual motifs all throughout the tale, that we can enjoy as much for their educational virtues as for their poetic, delicate and joyful impetus.
