The incubator

an area for new businesses

OPENING IN DECEMBER 2011

Artistic creation, particularly when it involves technology is today recognised in the sphere of research and by business as a growing source of innovation due to its capacity to generate new approaches, re-invent existing tools, and invent new interfaces and software. New businesses are being formed which bring together both artistic and industrial spheres. They have a flair for innovation in the products and services they offer and even in their production processes.

The CENTQUATRE incubator aims to help those with innovative business projects, whether artists, entrepreneurs, researchers or even engineers. It will provide private and subsidised space, exclusive access to funding sources, shared technical services and equipment, tailored project support and training, in addition to links with innovation networks.

The incubator also wants to encourage ideas and projects and bring together different players (artists, researchers, entrepreneurs) by hosting regular and varied events for a wide range of people, from professionals to visitors to CENTQUATRE.

For artists using technology or looking for industrial and research partners, the incubator will also be a resources and expertise centre aimed at encouraging their creativity. The selection process for incubator projects will take place through an invitation for project proposals (anticipated date: December 2011).
