Cova Macías

(PLASTICIST / SPAIN) ATELIER 14

INTIMATE REVOLT
(FROM 26 SEPTEMBER 2008 TO 30 JUNE 2009)

Cova Macías is interested in the problems of the passage to adulthood. Together with the young inhabitants of the neighbourhood of the CENTQUATRE, she is designing an audiovisual project about the building of identity. The biographical notes of the young protagonists, as well as a variety of cinematographic and literary references comprise the raw material of this social documentary project.

The characters are in the dual position of being active explorers and objects under observation. Their actions within the day-to-day domestic context are the result of a private experience dominated by the minor events of everyday life.

Several stages make up the creation process of this long project that leads her to study the socio-cultural and political context of the CENTQUATRE, and then to seek out the protagonists of her project with whom she writes the scenario.

Apart from the film there will also be the photographic work made up of the portraits of each of the actors in the video.

With the support of the Colección CAM. Caja Mediterráneo.
