Collectif F71

(THEATRE / FRANCE) STUDIO 14

FOUCAULT 71, EPISODE 2
FROM JANUARY, 4 TO OCTOBER, 30 2010

Continuing its work inspired by the thinking of Michel Foucault, Collectif F71 questions its apprehension of the world by means of just one tool: theatre. After "Foucault 71, episode 0", relating to militant commitment in 1971, "Foucault 71, episode 1", on prison and the disciplinary strategies stemming from it, the collective concludes its triptych with a show in which the central focus is the norm and what it implies in terms of deviance, dangerousness or pathological issues.
The writing of this episode is based on documents, textual, sound or visual archives, but also on the archives still to come, created by the collective based on how their meetings with the public go.

BIOGRAPHY
Collectif F71 was founded in 2004 by Sabrina Baldassarra, Stéphanie Farison, Emmanuelle Lafon, Sara Louis and Lucie Nicolas within the Jeune Théâtre National. Brought together by a common wish to rethink the organization of work on and around the stage, each of the women is author, director, and actress in their shows, and participates in their production. Thus the process of their work is deliberately collective at every stage of its implementation. By drawing on the more conventional experiences of each member, the process of rehearsals, writing and production of Collectif F71 is constantly being reinvented. Up until now, it has had the unique feature of taking place in an economy based on their own time, a mixture of working residencies, public creative phases,
rehearsals and performances.
