La Joyeuse de Photographie

AUBERVILLIERS HALL

La Joyeuse de Photographie is a young business that grew out of an unlikely gamble: to lend a certain nobility to identity photography by reviving old analog photobooths. Four different poses, or a story told in an atmosphere of great intimacy.

From New York to Berlin, people have been rushing to get their portraits taken in these "dream machines", alone or in small groups. Igor and Camille, two students who had already experienced the joys of playful self portraiture, thought that "the dream" should be made possible in Paris…

"La Joyeuse" has been a partner to the CENTQUATRE since its official opening and the booth in the Aubervilliers Hall is the first in a history of collaboration that we hope will be an enduring one. The CENTQUATRE was sensitive to the idea that people would thus be allowed to play out their identity in different ways, through a simple, playful act: making one's self a site for play and experimentation.

Without restraint. Or witnesses. In four poses.
In black and white.
