MES ROBES
FROM MAY, 16 TO SEPTEMBER 30 2009
Each item, part of the "Mes Robes" [My Dresses] series, has been made to measure, by and for the artist. These unique pieces, made for just one body, correspond to the development of one single project. The dress, as dream object, becomes the body’s envelope at a specific time, and protecting it, allows it to be affected by what surrounds it. These dresses thus acquire a memory of the events they have experienced. Yet they are atemporal and universal, equally at home in a château or in an orientalist décor, places where they have been worn by the artist. Shown in a neutral setting, emanates from these dresses and vibrates around them, an atmosphere that is both animal and infinitely precious.

BIOGRAPHY
Born in Saint-Germain-en-Laye in 1960, Marie-Ange Guilleminot lives and works in Paris. Graduate from the Ville Arson in Nice (France) in 1981, her work is shown all over the world, notably in New York and in Israel. She is awarded a Honorary Mention at the 1997 Venice Biennale for her multi-use piece Chapeau-vie. The fragility of bodies and beings is central to her work, raising issues of intimacy and taboo.
